Let's Talk Retinol Alternatives

Hello beautiful people,

Today I wanted to delve into the topic of Retinol, one of the most sought out ingredients. I am sure most everyone has heard of it and or has already experienced it. Retinol has been on the skincare market for over 40 years now and continues to be at the top of the list. Its popularity is based on its ability to treat numerous skinconditions like aging, pigmentation, and acne. Now who doesn’t want something that can address all those things! Sounds great right!! Unfortunately a stronger Retinol can come with unfavorable side effects like redness, peeling, excessive dryness, and major sun sensitivity. Though some of these negative effects can pass over time it’s an ingredient that is not suitable or tolerated by all. Thankfully there are powerful retinol alternatives on the market that can lend the skin the same antiaging, skin brightening and clearer skin without the side effects.

Let’s take a look at a few of these potent skin altering alternatives. I have spent a lot of time and research looking for these alternatives especially for those of us who live in a sunny tropical climate where using a traditional retinol is not ideal because of how sun sensitive it can make the skin.

Here are a couple of my favorites that some of you may already be using from me.

1- brighten and restore complex- Its star ingredient is Bukuchiol (Babchi) Oil: Natures (Non irritating) Retinol Alternative . Clinical research shows after 12 weeks of use, 2x’s a day, the 5% Babchi made significant improvements in lines and wrinkles and pigmentation. Results were comparable to a 5% Retinol with no irritation. This product can be used both morning and night without fear of sun irritation and skin sensitivity. 2- Retinaldehyde Serum With IconicA- Retinaldehyde is a stable and non-irritating form of Vitamin A. It Promotes skin cell turnover, improves skin tone, helps unclog pores, thickens the dermis to slow down the formation of wrinkles. All this is done with little to no irritation.

You can’t go wrong with either of these in your arsenal of skincare products to help keep skin looking brighter, younger and healthier.

I hope this information has been helpful and useful. Still Got questions? Don’t hesitate to reach out and ask. I’m here to help :) Maija
